In the heart of Northern California, where redwoods rise and coastal fog weaves through ancient groves, lies the Redwood Empire. Inspired by explorers like John Muir, we craft bold whiskey with patience, purpose, and a deep reverence for the land.
Our new distillery is located on historic Mare Island—a former naval shipyard nestled between San Francisco and Napa. Once the largest of its kind, the island built 89 seagoing vessels over nearly 150 years, including 44 submarines. The USS California was constructed in the dry dock now connected to our distillery.
Come explore two 19th-century brick buildings: one dedicated to whiskey-making, anchored by a three-story, 20-inch Vendome hybrid still designed for deep, consistent flavor; the other home to our whiskey bar, eatery, and tasting room.
Here, whiskey is both the journey and the destination—rooted in California’s past, shaped by nature, and meant to be savored off the beaten path. Come explore the island’s history, enjoy a guided tour, sip elevated cocktails, or relax with a casual snack in the sun.
