Rye Not
Rye Not is a bold, spirit-forward cocktail with a subtle herbal lift. Crafted with Redwood Empire Emerald Giant Rye Whiskey, simple syrup, Angostura and Peychaud’s bitters, and finished with a bar spoon of absinthe, this drink is aromatic, balanced, and bracingly smooth.
Rye Not Ingredients
- Ice (for stirring)
- 2 oz Redwood Empire Emerald Giant Whiskey
- 1/2 oz simple syrup
- 4 dashes Angostura bitters
- 2 dashes Peychaud’s bitters
- 1 bar spoon absinthe
- Lemon twist, for garnish
Mixing Instructions
- Add a bar spoon of absinthe to a chilled coupe and set aside.
- Add the whiskey, simple syrup, Angostura bitters, and Peychaud’s bitters to a mixing glass.
- Fill the mixing glass with ice.
- Stir for 30–40 seconds, until well chilled and properly diluted.
- Discard the absinthe from the chilled coupe (or swirl to coat, then discard).
- Strain the cocktail into the prepared coupe.
- Garnish with a fresh lemon twist.
- Serve immediately.
