The Empire Manhattan is a bold, spirit-forward classic that highlights the balance of bourbon and rye found in Redwood Empire Lost Monarch Whiskey. Sweet vermouth and orange bitters add depth and warmth, while a flamed orange peel delivers a bright, aromatic finish.
Empire Manhattan Ingredients
- Ice (for stirring)
- 2 oz Redwood Empire Lost Monarch Whiskey
- 1 oz sweet vermouth
- 2 dashes orange bitters
- Orange peel, for garnish
Mixing Instructions
- Add the whiskey, sweet vermouth, and orange bitters to a mixing glass.
- Fill the mixing glass with ice.
- Stir for 30–40 seconds, until well chilled and properly diluted.
- Strain into your desired glass (a coupe or Nick & Nora glass works well).
- Using a lighter, flame the oils from an orange peel over the surface of the cocktail.
- Finish with a twist of the orange peel in the glass.
- Serve immediately.
